Watch first

See how a Mezzo window is built

This short video from Alside walks through the frame, the locks and the sill, one piece at a time. They are the same features we point out at your estimate.

  • Narrow frames that leave more room for glass
  • A sill that sheds water and locks the sash in place
  • Locks that show when a window is left unlocked

Seven features you can point to

Each Mezzo feature has a name, because each one does a specific job. Here is what they are and why they matter in a desert home.

EdgeForce narrowline frame

A slim, beveled frame and sash leave more room for glass, so you get more daylight and a bigger view. Chambers inside the frame add strength and insulation.

CoreFX reinforcement

Composite reinforcement in the meeting rails slows heat moving through the frame and gives the locks a solid mount. Large double hungs get steel reinforcement instead.

Defense-Tek locks

Low profile locks with a cam action pull the sashes tight as they close, and an indicator shows when a window has been left unlocked.

Forecaster sloped sill

The sill slopes down to shed water, with the weep holes hidden in the corners instead of across the front, so it looks clean too.

Gatekeeper interlock

As the bottom sash closes it locks into the sill, so strong wind cannot bow it. With three layers of weatherstripping, it keeps air and water out.

Ocular screen seal

A bulb seal makes full screens easy to put in and take out, and the snug fit closes the gap that lets light and insects slip past.

Frames and glass

Built for retrofit and for the heat

Mezzo frames are fusion welded at every corner, with airtight chambers inside. A block frame is standard, and nail fin and stucco fin frames suit retrofit jobs in valley stucco. Foam filled frames add insulation and quiet.

Glass that does the heavy lifting

Every Mezzo window has double strength glass on both panes and a ClimaTech Low-E package. Low-E reflects sun heat in summer, keeps warmth in during winter and cuts the UV that fades floors and furniture. A 1 inch triple pane option adds a third pane and a second gas space for even less heat and noise.
